What's included in your plan
TV mounting is included in all subscription plans. A standard mount with wire concealment takes 1-2 hours. Mounting above a stone fireplace or on brick adds time. Multiple TV mounts in one visit is the most efficient use of your subscription hours.
What it costs
TV mounting labor is included in your subscription. TV mounts and wire concealment kits are billed at cost plus 15%, or you can provide your own.
Questions we get about tv mounting
How much does it cost to mount a TV in the Lake Norman area?
With a Lake Norman Handyman subscription, TV mounting labor is included. You pay only for the mount bracket ($25-$100) and wire concealment kit ($15-$40). Standalone TV mounting in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area typically costs $150-$400 depending on TV size and wire hiding needs.
Can you mount a TV on a brick fireplace?
Yes. Brick and stone mounting requires masonry anchors and a hammer drill, which we bring. The process takes longer than drywall mounting — typically 2-3 hours including wire routing. We pre-drill pilot holes and use proper masonry fasteners rated for the TV weight.
What height should a TV be mounted?
For seated viewing, the center of the TV should be at eye level — typically 42-48 inches from the floor for standard seating. Above a fireplace, the center is usually 56-65 inches. We'll help you find the optimal position before drilling any holes.
Can you hide all the wires inside the wall?
In most cases, yes. We use in-wall rated power and HDMI pass-through kits that meet building code. For exterior walls or situations where in-wall routing isn't feasible, we install paintable cord covers that blend with the wall. We'll assess your wall and recommend the best approach.
Do I need to buy the TV mount, or do you provide it?
Either way works. If you want us to source the mount, we'll recommend one based on your TV size and weight, then bill it at cost plus 15%. If you prefer to buy your own, just make sure it's rated for your TV's size and weight and have it on-site for the visit.
