Kitchen Refreshes in Lake Norman & Mooresville, NC

A full gut kitchen remodel runs $80K–$150K in the Lake Norman market and takes three months. A refresh is the alternative when the layout works and the bones are good. Refinished or replaced cabinets, new quartz counters, fresh backsplash, modern lighting, updated fixtures. The footprint stays; everything you see changes.

Kitchen refresh projects priced $20,000 to $38,000 fixed-scope: cabinet refinishing or replacement, new counters, tile backsplash, lighting, fixtures. No layout changes, no wall removal. 4–6 weeks of active construction.

Questions we get about kitchen refreshes

What's the difference between a kitchen refresh and a full remodel?

A refresh keeps the layout: same cabinet footprint, same sink and range locations, same plumbing and electrical runs. We update what you see — cabinets, counters, backsplash, lighting, hardware, paint. A full remodel changes the layout, opens walls, moves plumbing, and runs 2–4x the cost. For most homes built since 2005, a refresh delivers 90% of the visual impact at 30% of the price.

Do you refinish existing cabinets or only replace them?

Both. Refinishing (sanding, priming, spraying with a durable finish) sits at the lower end of the price range and works when the cabinet boxes are solid wood or quality plywood. For particleboard, water-damaged, or 40+ year old cabinets, replacement is the better long-term value. We assess your cabinets on the walkthrough and recommend the right approach.

How much does a kitchen refresh cost in Mooresville?

$20,000–$38,000 fixed-price depending on cabinet approach (refinish vs replace), countertop material, and backsplash scope. Other contractors quote in the same range but bill materials and labor separately with frequent change orders. Our number is the number.

Will I have a working kitchen during the project?

Partially. The sink and dishwasher are out of commission for 7–10 days during counter templating, fabrication, and install. We help set up a temporary prep station with the fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in an adjacent room. Most clients eat out more during that stretch. It's the most disruptive part of the project.

Can you match existing flooring at cabinet transitions?

Yes, in most cases. If we're replacing cabinets, we install new cabinets to match the existing floor height with proper toe-kick scribe. If your floors have deteriorated, we can refinish hardwood as part of the refresh. Full floor replacement is a separate scope.

Do you provide appliances?

No. Appliances are supplied by the homeowner; we install them as part of the refresh. Order them 2–3 weeks before your start date so they're on-site when we need them. We can refer you to local appliance dealers if you want a single point of contact.

Are you a licensed general contractor?

We're insured and operate within North Carolina's $40,000 unlicensed-project limit on residential work. Our general contractor license is in process. Kitchen refreshes are priced under the threshold by design.
